Alastair Kerr Website

Welcome to my website

Lots of great music coming up in 2024 - check the gigs tab for upcoming shows, as well as the News tab for other events.

Last year I had the pleasure of being part of some amazing concerts, and I'm looking forward to even more this year, with Panorama Brasil, Dany Maia, and a stack of other great musicians.  2023 saw Panorama Brasil presenting Clube da Esquina at the Melbourne Recital Centre. Featuring Alda Rezende, Clube da Esquina is a tribute to the incredible music of artists like Milton Nascimento and Lo Borges, and we're working hard to bring it back to Australia later in 2024. And Jobim fans, we have something very special in the works! Stay tuned.

Don't forget to support the musicians you love through platforms like Bandcamp.  Bandcamp are continuing to waive their revenue share on the first Friday of each month, which means more money from album sales goes straight to the artists.  But there are other platforms, and frequently the best way to support the artist is to buy directly from them.  And don't forget that little things like subscribing to youtube channels, or following facebook pages can really help too.

On the concert front, Panorama Brasil has lots of exciting stuff coming up in 2024, and you can also catch me regularly with Brazilian singer Dany Maia.  Like us on facebook or follow us on twitter to stay up to date.  We're also releasing more video and recordings from the back catalogue, so make sure you subscribe on youtube.

For details on all of these events, check my GIG listings.  You can also find information about all of these groups, including mp3s and videos on this site.  And you can visit us on facebook, see the latest videos on the new Panorama Brasil youtube channel, check out my instagram or catch Panorama Brasil on twitter (panorama_brasil).

May 3 Georgie Aue - Paris Cat Jazz Club

Georgie Aue

Friday May 3, 6pm

Paris Cat Jazz Club

Irresistible Brazilian rhythms, sweet jazz harmonies and a whole lotta groove, get to the Paris Cat Jazz Club to hear classic tunes of Brazilian superstar Sergio Mendes!  Making his name back in the 1960s with his group Sergio Mendes & Brasil ’66, he went on to become the undisputed master of pop-inflected Brazilian Jazz.

Listening to hit tunes like Mas Que Nada and Ultima Batucada, you'll be whisked away to the 60s and 70s to bossa nova cool and then get grooving in your seat (or on your feet!) to the infectious rhythms of Brazil.  Sergio Mendes is a prodigious arranger, composer and musician, and this show dedicated to his music highlights his incredible legacy. Guaranteed you'll leave shuffling the samba, with an infectious grin!
