Hermeto Magnético is an octet dedicated to uncovering the repertoire of the legendary Brazilian virtuoso Hermeto Pascoal, whose music ranges from an eclectic mix of popular Brazilian music influences to improvisation, jazz, and classical, and who is known for a musical creativity that goes beyond conventions as it is 'neither jazz, nor bossa nova, nor samba’.
For this special evening they will be joined by brilliant Bolivian pianist Danilo Rojas and his quartet, performing jazz inspired by the rhythms of his homeland. Tickets at the door, 250 High St, Northcote.
